Features that are necessary or desirable to use Haiku full-time.

Graphics

  • Desktop compositing
    • Hardware 3D acceleration

Hardware Support

  • 64-bit PowerPC (likely little endian for compatibility, but not necessarily)
  • Newer AMD GPUs (amdgpu driver)

Software

  • Disable clickToOpen on menus
  • Drawing and positioning of movable window title tabs
  • More current and/or mainstream web browser
    • Firefox?
    • QtWebEngine?
    • WebPositive is ideal but needs a newer/better engine
  • Reliable IMAP for the built-in mailer
  • Reliable wireless network joining
  • Software RAID
  • Virtualization
